Resignation Letter Template

• Address the letter to your direct superior or manager.



• Date of Resignation. That is, when is the resignation effective from?



• Mention the position or designation that you are resigning from.



• What will be your last day in office?



• Mention why you are leaving.
  
  If you are joining another organization or perhaps proceeding on a maternity leave or taking a break for further studies, go ahead and mention it. However, if don‘t want to mention the reason, just leave it out.



• Keep it polite.


You may come back to this organization, or your boss may join the company where you are moving– the possibilities are endless.

The point is– why leave on a bad note if you can avoid it?–. However, if you are leaving because of an unpleasant reason and you absolutely need to have it out, say it but be dignified.
